Classified as “National Monument” in the beginning of the XX century, the “Pond of Backyard of the Idol (Fonte do Quintal do Ídolo)”, or “Fountain of the Idol (Fonte do Ídolo)” – as it is more commonly known – was built in plain I a. C. century, in a currently surrounded by urban constructions place, in a backyard very close to the Palace of Raio (Palácio do Raio), also classified.
Generically speaking, we are in front of an archaeological artifact composed of a granite rock of considerable dimensions, in which surface’s we can see a long series of Latin inscriptions and sculptures.
